Meeting: Meetings are held quarterly at the Washtenaw County Emergency Operations Center.
Authority:Resolution 78-0627 established the Washtenaw County Emergency Medical Services Commission. Bylaws were approved by the Board of Commissioners by Resolution 82-0362. Resolution 97-0243 amended to bylaws.
Compensation:Consumer representatives and members representing the Board of Commissioners receive per diem and mileage reimbursement.
Membership:The Emergency Medical Services Commission was to be comprised of the following members appointed by the Board of Commissioners: four citizens of Washtenaw County, one citizen alternate, two Board of Commissioners, the medical director of the Washtenaw-Livingston Medical Control Authority Board, the County Public Health Officer, the Director of the contracted County Ambulance Provider, the EMS Education Manager of the Contracted Ambulance Provider, the Executive Director of the County Chapter of the American Red Cross, three representatives appointed by the County Criminal Justice Association, three representatives appointment by the Wahtenaw Area Mutual Aid Assoication, one representative appointed by the County Chapter of the Michigan Township Association,the Ann Arbor Disaster Preparedness Coordinator appointed by the Ann Arbor City Council, one representative of the University of Michigan Hospitals, one representative of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. The membership was modified by Resolution 7909997 to include four representatives of the public safety agencies and was further modified by Resolution 80-0148 to add a fifth public safety represntative. That resolution also established a two-year term for appointments to the EMS Commission. The Bylaws modified the membership to 19 members, adding a member from fire service and from the Michigan Township Association and including an additional consumer representative. Resolution 83-0161 amended the Bylaws of the Washtenaw County Emergency Medical Services Commission to state with regard to consumer representatives. (4) providers in Washtenaw County or otherwise having a pecuniary interest with other organizations already represented on the Commission and should be from geographically diverse areas to represent Washtenaw County as a whole. Resolution 85-0060 modified the Bylaws to state two (2) members representing the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners. The bylaws were modified by resolution 97-0243 to incorporate modifications to the term of appointments to three years and add designees to the required appointments.
