Certified Vital Records Birth Eligibility Status

Certified Birth Records may only be requested if you are the person or parent named on the record. All birth records must be paid for by credit card. The name on the credit card must be that of the person requesting the record. Read below if you do not meet this requirement.

If you are requesting a copy of a birth certificate because you are a:

Legal Guardian,
Legal Representative,
Court Representative or
Heir of deceased person named on record

Your request must be processed in person at the Washtenaw County Clerk/Register's Office

Warning! Access to copies of certain Vital Records is limited by law to the person who is the subject of the record. Anyone making a false statement for purposes of obtaining a Vital Record may be prosecuted. Use of this service to obtain a Vital Record is limited by State and Federal law. Persons violating those provisions will be prosecuted. Any person or persons applying for such records attests to the truth and accuracy of all information provided in conjunction with that person's request.
