Meeting:
The Washtenaw County Board of Health meets on the fourth Friday of the month, except when that date falls on a holiday. Meeting time is 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. All meetings are held at the Washtenaw County Public Health offices at 555 Towner Street, Room 2102 B, Ypsilanti, MI 48198.
Authority: Resolution 14-0111 established the Board of Health. Bylaws established under Resolution 22-033.
Compensation:
Membership: Membership shall consist of eleven (11) members appointed by the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners, two of which shall be current members of the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners that serve as board liaisons. Membership shall take into account relevant lived experience, public health constituencies, experience living in a low opportunity index community or experience being a member of a historically excluded group, experience and education from sectors including, but not limited to public and environmental health, academia, health service delivery, legal services, philanthropy, social service delivery, k-12 education, consumers and citizens at large.
No board member may serve more than three (3) consecutive full terms, or ten (10) years total. If this limit is reached in the middle of a term, the board member will be permitted to complete the current term. Anyone who has served three (3) full consecutive terms, or ten (10) years shall be ineligible for board membership for at least three (3) full years from and after the expiration of
such terms. Term limits do not apply to the Washtenaw County Commissioners serving on the Board. The
Commissioners must follow the appointment policies that govern the Board of Commissioners.
