Authority: Historic Preservation Ordinance Section IIb
Compensation: Members of the Commission receive per diem and mileage reimbursement.
Membership: "The Washtenaw County Historic District Commission shall consist of seven or nine members to be appointed by the Chair of the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners with the approval of the Board of Commissioners."
All members shall reside within Washtenaw County. In the event of a vacancy on the Commission, interim appointments may be made by the Chair and the Board of Commissioners to complete the unexpired term of such position.
Membership requirements: the membership shall consist of representative citizens who shall have demonstrated their interest in Washtenaw County's history and their ability to render valuable services in historical and civic matters especially representative of educational and civic organizations. The Board shall appoint at least two (2) members from a list of citizens submitted by duly organized and existing County preservation society or societies; and if applicable (Section 2c) an architect and an attorney who are duly registered in this State and a member of the Washtenaw County Metropolitan Planning Commission and including interested persons from as many different townships within Washtenaw County as feasible."
