Meeting:
In 2004, meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every other Monday at 2 pm beginning on January 27. Meetings are held in the Washtenaw County Emergency Operations Center.
Authority: The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners created a Homeland Security Task Force to coordinate all county homeland security activities with federal, stae, and local governments; to assess terrorism risks, response capabilities and needed improvements; to develop community guidance and emergency response procedures; and to make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners about utilization of federal and state homeland security grant funds for domestic preparedness equipment and training. Resolution Number 03-0138.
Compensation: Members representing the Board of Commissioners receive a per diem and mileage reimbursement. Other members serve without reimbursement.
Membership: The Task Force shall consist of the Washtenaw County Sheriff, Washtenaw County Director of Emergency Management, Washtenaw County Public Health Officer, a member of the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners, two representatives appointed by the Washtenaw Area Mutual Aid Association Chiefs Committee, two members appointed by the Washtenaw Criminal Justice Association, the Chairperson of the Washtenaw County Hazardous Materials Response Team, one representative appointed by the Washtenaw County Chapter of the Michigan Townships Assoication, one representative appointed by the Washtenaw County Chapter of the Michigan Municipal League, the Superintendent of the Washtenaw Intermediate School District, the CEO or designee of the University of Michigan Medical Center, the CEO or designee of the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, the CEO or designee of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the CEO or designee of Chelsea Community Hospital, the CEO or designee of the county ambulance contractor, the Executive Director or designee of the Washtenaw County Road Commission, the Executive Director or designee of the Washtenaw County Chapter of the American Red Cross, the District Coordinator of the Michigan State Police Emergency Management Division, and a representative of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Director of Emergency Management shall chair this task force, and it shall be staffed by members of the Washtenaw County Emergency Management Division.
