GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of a higher classified employee, coordinates and participates in the delivery of behavioral psychology services. Trains staff and serves as a technical advisior to agency staff in the application of behavior modification techniques. Conducts functional assessments/analysis and treatment planning.
TYPICAL DUTIES
  • Conducts functional assessments/analysis, including clinical observations, recommended behavioral interventions and plan for implementation.
  • Devises charts and other instruments to be used by staff in gathering data on client behavior.
  • Consults with staff regarding implementation of behavioral programs, reviewing staff documentation fo client functioning and revising programs as necessary.
  • Trains staff, students and volunteers in the use of behavior modification techniques.
  • Provide ongoing behavior monitoring, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Participate in Behavior Treatment Committee presenting cases, providing feedback and consultation.
  • May serve on committees,task forces and other groups as assigned.
  • Consults witih members of other agencies regarding behavior interventions for joint clients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
  • M.A. or M.S. in psychology with a specialization in behavioral sciences or Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA).
  • Coursework in behavioral assessment and behavioral change is required.
EXPERIENCE
  • One year experience as a behavior psychologist with emphasis on assessment of maladaptive behaviors and design of behavior change programs and /or token economy programs.
Necessary Special Meet requirements for limited licensure as a psychologist in the State of Michigan or BCBA
