JOB SUMMARY
The Mobile Support Services Initiative (MSSI) Program Coordinator plays a critical role in the efficient operation and management of the MSSI program. This position involves supporting various aspects of the program, including scheduling, user coordination, data collection, reporting, and communication with relevant stakeholders. The MSSI Program Coordinator supports several of Washtenaw Counties core values:
  • Enhance customer service.
  • Focus on the root causes of problems that affect the quality of life of County citizens by aggressively pursuing prevention strategies.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Essential Duties:

Schedule Development and Maintenance:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive schedule for both internal and external users of the MSSI vehicle.
  • Ensure that scheduling processes are efficient and responsive to the needs of users while maximizing the utilization of resources.
User Coordination:

  • Coordinate with individuals and organizations utilizing the MSSI vehicle to ensure smooth and effective access to services.
  • Serve as a point of contact for users, addressing inquiries, scheduling requests, and resolving any issues that may arise.
Data Collection and Utilization:

  • Assist in the collection and utilization of data sets aimed at tracking equity and related fields within the MSSI program.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify key metrics, gather data, and analyze trends to inform decision-making and program improvement efforts.
Reporting and Correspondence:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and correspondence as directed by the supervisor in response to requests for information from the County Administrator's Office, Board of Commissioners, and other jurisdictional offices.
  • Ensure that reports are accurate, timely, and effectively communicate the performance and impact of the MSSI program.
Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with stakeholders, including government officials, community organizations, and service providers, to promote awareness of the MSSI program and solicit feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify opportunities for collaboration and resource sharing to enhance program effectiveness.
Program Evaluation and Improvement

  • Participate in program evaluation efforts to assess the effectiveness of MSSI services and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to address challenges, optimize service delivery, and enhance the overall impact of the program.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Previous experience in program management, preferably in a social services or community development context.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience using relevant software tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of equity principles and experience working with underserved communities is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice principles.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and emerging needs of the MSSI program.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The position requires the ability to use standard office equipment including a computer, vision sufficient to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person or over the telephone.

EDUCATION
Equivalent to graduation from high school is required. Equivalent to possession of a bachelor's degree with major coursework in social work, public policy, gender or sexuality studies, communications, business or public relations, or a field related to the work is desired.
EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of experience program design, community engagement and/or outreach.
