JOB SUMMARY
|
Under the supervision of a higher classified employee, supports the Facilities Management department in operational areas such as the mail room, fleet, warehouse activities, and general assisting duties.
|
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
|
Essential Duties:
|
Aids in general mail room support activities.
|

Acts as a backup for mail room delivery needs.
|

Responsible for preparing and processing all outgoing mail using the mail machine when necessary. Would include scheduling maintenance of the machine and entering appropriate mail codes, etc.
|

When acting as backup, walks, or drives a van or other vehicle, to all County work locations to pick up or deliver mail, supplies, books, equipment and parcels and messages.
|
Operational support for Facilities Management.
|

Assist with inventory audit assets for work order system.
|
-
Assist fleet with moving vehicles to from dealers, outfitters, auction house and various county locations.
|
-
Accept and transport needed FM supplies/parts/materials to various county sites as needed. Deliver FM supplies/equipment/material to locations across the County.
|

Operates and coordinates service necessary for equipment and vehicles.
|
-
Seasonal field work support.
|
Provides administrative support as needed, such as reviewing or completing paperwork, and gathering/inputting data in various databases or tracking tools.
|

May perform related clerical work such as answering the telephone, opening, and distributing incoming mail and faxes, processing correspondence, filing documents, updating technical manuals, and distributing output documents such as reports and checks.
|

May be asked to support other responsibilities of the Facilities Management Department under urgent or emergency circumstances.
|

May be part of snow removal team.
|

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Prepares various reports as needed to supervision, updating, and maintaining databases.

Uses and operates standard office equipment in the course of the work. May drive a county or personal vehicle in the course of the work.

Ability to problem solve and find creative solutions to problems and issues.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
|
Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license is required.
|
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
|
Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a normal office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person or over the telephone.
|
Occasionally duties require sufficient mobility to move and transport items weighing up to 80 pounds. Occasionally duties require sufficient mobility to walk long distances while transporting items weighing up to 80 pounds.
|

EDUCATION
|
Equivalent to possession a high school diploma or GED is required. An associate's degree is preferred.
|
EXPERIENCE
|
Experience in warehouse and/or mailroom is preferred.
