JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Fiscal Services Supervisor leads the activities of the fiscal service department on a daily basis.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Essential Duties:

  • In conjunction with the Fiscal Services Supervisor, plans and reviews department activities. Assures that the necessary workflow is processed in a timely and efficient fashion.
  • Identifies training needs and develops training for department section, including development of a policy and procedures manual. Trains and/or coordinates the training of new staff members.
  • In conjunction with the Fiscal Services Supervisor, develops department systems and procedures in accordance with departmental goals, processes and policies. Drafts and revises forms related to department functions and maintains statistical analysis of department workflows and tasks.
  • Analyzes and resolves daily work problems and assists the Case Managers and Case Specialists in solving work problems. Performs the duties of and backs up the Case Managers and Case Specialists as needed.
  • In conjunction with the Fiscal Services Supervisor reviews the MiCSES suspense account.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Statewide Child Support Systems (MICSES)
  • Customer service and intake service departments
  • Domestic relations, FOC, State, and Federal Regulations to interpret court orders and perform necessary duties accordingly.
  • FOC processes and procedures
  • Using sound, independent judgment within established policy and procedure guidelines.
  • Maintain a high level of concentration to ensure the accuracy of client accounts.
  • Adaptability to various computer software programs and necessary equipment.
  • Coordinate work assignments and provide direction to lower level employees and managers.
  • Prepare clear, concise and effective written materials.
  • Maintaining accurate records and files.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Possession of a valid Michigan Vehicle Operator¿s License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a normal office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person or over the telephone.

EDUCATION
Two (2) years of college or technical school degree including coursework in accounting, social science and paralegal courses.
EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years of service in FOC as a Case Manager I/II working in financials or equivalent.
